Here we go, It’s time. The Fedex Cup Playoffs is here. LETS GOOOO! This week on Tour we head to Memphis, Tennessee for the FedEx St. Jude Championship. The top 70 on the PGA Tour will be battling it out for pay jumps in the FedEx playoffs.
TPC Southwind is a par 70 golf course tipping out at just over 7200 yards. A very average golf course in regards to length on the PGA Tour. What makes this course challenging is the size of the fairways and the doglegs on many holes. TPC Southwind has the 2nd narrowest fairways requiring immaculate accuracy and the 3rd smallest greens which demand for great ball strikers.
Another unique feature as playoffs start is there’s no cut. So golfers will have 4 days to put together some good scores no matter what. I will especially be interested in top 20 wagers because of which.
We are coming off a sweep last week with our top 20’s at the Wyndham Championship and looking forward to keeping the train on the tracks.
SammyStats 10k Best Bets
This week we are going with 7 top 20 bets only. Will likely add some live outright winners but will be focused solely on the top 20 finishes.
JT Poston Top 20 (+145)
JT Poston has been red hot the last 5 weeks and there’s no signs of him slowing down this week. Poston has had 4 straight top 7 finishes on the PGA Tour and is firing on all cylinders. His game is very sharp and with a plus money wager for a top 20 finish, I will take that any day of the week.
Wyndham Clark Top 20 (+105)
Clark is another golfer that has been a top caliber player all season and has his game in a good position come playoffs. He’s shown his ability to go head to head with the top golfers in the world and see him thriving in another high pressure situation again this week. Clark has 2 wins this year including a major and have no qualms continuing to back him again.
Brian Harmon Top 20 (+120)
BH is coming off an unreal performance at the Open just a few weeks ago and has really been just playing rock solid all season. He hits fairways and greens at an unbelievable clip which is the blueprint of how to succeed at TPC Southwind. Big fan of Brian Harmon this week.
Sam Burns Top 20 (+120)
Another player I have backed my fair share this year is Sam Burns. Burns’ consistency makes him one of the best players on tour and seems to plot his way around any golf course week in and week out. Burns is also coming off a few good performances and top 20 finishes in the past weeks finding his game right as the playoffs begin.
Sepp Straka Top 20 (+145)
Straka is in a similar boat to the guys mentioned above. Sepp has been playing great golf with a win at TPC Deere Run and a T2 at the Open. Straka was runner up here at this tournament last year losing in a playoff. I feel very confident in Sepp again this week at a course he’s had great success. Straka checks all the boxes for me.
Keegan Bradley Top 20 (+185)
This line in my opinion is a little disrespectful to Keegan and I will be hopping all over it. Bradley has a recent win this season at the travelers and has found himself playing really solid golf since. Keegan tends to show up in big golf tournaments and feel good about taking a shot on him this week. I wouldn’t be surprised to see KB on the first page of the leaderboard come Sunday.
Matt Fitzpatrick Top 20 (+130)
Last, but certainly not least is Matty Ice. Fitz has 3 top 6 finishes here at this course and giving him plus money seems like a crime. I will be capitalizing on this disrespect any time I get a chance. Fitzy has all the tools to get himself into contention and a very good ball striker nonetheless. I think this line is way off on a golfer that has shown he has a leg up on his competition at TPC Southwind.
Enjoy the FedEx Cup Playoffs & always wager responsibly.
