10K Bets: How Jonathan Marchessault Is Gonna Make Me (and you) RICH!

This year’s battle for Lord Stanley’s Cup is far from an Original 6 matchup. We have Vegas making its second trip to the Stanley Cup Final. Then, we have the Florida Panthers making their first Stanley Cup Final appearance since 1996 after an unprecedented run through an Eastern Conference gauntlet. Here are some bets I’m looking at to cap off the NHL season. Odds are current from FanDuel Sportsbook as of 5/31.

It is objectively cool that Lord Stanley will find a first timer this year.

Series Winner

  • Vegas -125
  • Florida +105

I don’t think there’s a ton of value here, but I like Vegas to take the Cup. I will say, it is enticing to not have Florida laying some juice in this spot. It’s chalky, but I believe the depth of the Golden Knights is unlike anything Florida has seen in these playoffs (which says a lot).

Conn Smythe Winner

This is my favorite prop for the Stanley Cup and it should be yours, too. There’s two names I’m looking at here. For Florida, Matthew Tkachuk has been an absolute buzzsaw throughout the playoffs. Not just scoring, but causing problems for opponents in about every way imaginable, even at NBA games.

Then, I really like Jonathan Marchessault from the Golden Knights. After being held scoreless in the opening round, he has heated up for nine goals in twelve games since. That’s absolutely gonna continue. For a bonus bet, bet on Marchessault to score a goal in each game. Obviously the odds will vary, but with his hot streak he should be cashing this more than not. Think of it like doubling down on your Marchessault Conn Smythe bet. He’s definitely gonna be paying my rent on this one.

Series Overtime Games

This is a unique find in my opinion. Vegas has only played in four overtime games this postseason, but three of them came in the Western Conference Finals against Dallas. Florida has played in exactly two overtime games in each of the three rounds of the 2023 playoffs. Bobrovsky should continue to keep Florida in close games so I like the over 1.5 games for a decent payout.

Best Bet: Over 1.5 Games +168

Series Total Goals (33.5)

I expect this series to go either six or seven games. This also factors in a couple overtimes that guarantee an extra goal. I’m not backing down from solid goaltending. Let’s not get it twisted, both of these teams find ways to score. Remember, life is just too damn short to bet the under!

Best Bet: Over 33.5 (-110)

Final Thoughts

This isn’t the Stanley Cup Final anybody asked for, but I am jacked for it to start! I haven’t been able to find a prop for the amount of hot dogs or Diet Cokes Phil Kessel is consuming during this series up in the press box as a healthy scratch. So, I guess I’ll have to make my own line. We’ll set the combined line at 33.5 to match total goals for the series. Protip? Listen to us, and HAMMER the over.
