During the summer of 2020, there were no wrong answers for what to drink. We did what we had to to get through that time as quickly as possible. This summer is different. After a year of binge-drinking our way through a quarantine all alone, we can start to focus on what want to binge-drink with our friends. This is THE definitive list for the top 10 summer drinks of 2021.

10. Margarita

Don’t overthink it. Margaritas are classic summer drinks because they’re versatile and delicious. Want it on the rocks? Go for it. Want that sucker blended up? Nobody is stopping you. Want it in a 6-foot cup? Book that trip to Vegas. Hell, you can even drink them out of a pool.

Pro tip: the premade margarita mix from Costco is strong and cheap. Oh, and pretty tasty.

9. Blackberry Lemon Gin & Tonic  

Are you feeling fancy?  A regular G&T was a great 2020 option, but it’s time to up your game. Break out that muddler and get ready to do a little day drinking with this posh ass thing.

8. Moscow Mule

There’s something about drinking out of a copper mug that just hits you differently. When it’s hot AF outside, the Moscow Mule absolutely shreds. Depending on where you’re drinking, it may cost you $37,000 to get drunk, but you’re going to enjoy it.

Avoid that problem and use this recipe. Just make sure you get yourself a set of copper cups.

7. Iceberg

Beer is delicious. Margaritas are delicious. A margarita topper on your beer is extra delicious. Cold, refreshing, perfect.

6. Piña Colada

Do you like piña coladas? Sit by the pool, try not to get caught in the rain, order about 27 of these, and don’t look back. Enjoy this classic summer drink at home using this recipe.

5. The Beergarita

We already covered the iceberg, which is similar. And we already covered the margarita. But with this gem, we get the best of both worlds. Blend that marg up and throw your bottle of Corona right on top. I’m pretty sure the blended ice in the drink even counts as hydration.

4. Carajillo

Picture this: it’s late, you’re hitting a wall, and you need something more sophisticated than a Vodka Redbull. Enter the Carajillo. This Mexican cocktail is as simple as it is delicious. Get yourself some licor 43, espresso, and ice, and you’re set.

(Bonus, you can also use the Licor 43 to make mini beer shots)

It’s simple enough to make at home, but looks WAY more complex so here’s the recipe for your at home pleasure. Seriously, this will impress both friends and potential lovers.


3. Bomba Juice  

Please don’t sue us, Gray Duck. A good picture was needed.

Walk into Target Field, head directly to the Gray Duck Deck and snag one of the standing rails offering a great view of the game. While you’re there, order no less than six Bomba Juice cocktails and get ready to REALLY enjoy Nelson Cruz also hammering some bombas.

2. Paloma

Want something like a margarita but you can drink an unlimited amount of? Order a Paloma. Tequila, some lime juice, and grapefruit soda come together for one of the best travel plans possible to inebriation. If you want to take this drink to the next level, make it with mezcal and coat the rim with tajin.

1. Michelob Golden Light

If you didn’t see this one coming, I don’t know what to tell you. Maybe you’re a Busch Light person; or Coors; or for some reason you’re into Miller Lite. That’s great, but this is Minnesota and the correct answer is Mich Golden Light with olives. Take it from Kirill Kaprizov, Mich Golden Light is the definitive summer drink of all the summer drinks for a Minnesota Summer.
