In the NFL, there are certain roster moves that help you win overnight. The Vikings have been known to make a move or 2 when they need it, but in their case, it’s usually boom or bust. Typical. Through 2 Preseason games, the pass rush has looked stale. Granted we are without our best edge rusher right now, but the DE2 competition is looking more like a yawn fest at this point. The purple has to spice it up, and another move was made when the squad brought back ol’ Everson Griffen.
During his time here, Ev was a key cog in the Zimmer defense. Even though he wasn’t on the team last year (he should have been) Griffen still put up 6 sacks for the LOLions and Cowboys. That kind of production will be important for a sneaky good pass rush rotation, which is where I think he fits best. Imagine this line: Everson, Dalvin Tomlinson, Michael Pierce, Danielle Hunter? Let’s go! Plus, Ev always brings the trash talk to the table, which I’m 100% here for.
We heard rumors about the potential signing last week and now, it’s official. Let’s just hope he knows what to say and not to say on Twitter.
