I know the Minnesota Wild are far from a guaranteed playoff spot. But I wanted to use this blog as a benchmark in the timeline to hold myself personally accountable. Back in October I said if the Minnesota Wild do what we Minnesota fans think is impossible and advance past the 1st round of the NHL playoffs, I will shave my entire head and go bald as a baby. After Billy G made some STELLAR moves at the deadline, I think there’s a real chance we could do it. Am I 100% confident we are going to do it? No. Do I think this team is special? Sometimes I don’t. I did these things last year and my heart was shattered, so I used this bet as a way to hedge my potential sadness for this year.
If the Wild advance to the 2nd round of the playoffs, great! I get to watch my favorite team for another week and they are just that much closer to the Cup. If they don’t make the playoffs or get bounced in the first round, I get to keep my salad.
What I will say is I WILL NOT look good bald. I won’t look a day over 18. Bars will most likely definitely card me, then card me again, and then ask for my passport. But because I love the Minnesota Wild so much, I can confidently say (for the first time in my life) I would KILL to be bald this year…
