Is Markus Allen going to Transfer Again?
It’s almost unbelievable. Ive never seen someone flip-flop more on a decision than Markus has done over the past month. I’m not trying to bash the guy, I know it’s his future and he wants the best for himself so maybe I am. But this is another level. There’s no way you can believe a word he says and I feel the new Wisconsin Badgers coach will learn that the hard way. If you don’t know what I’m talking about let me catch you up quickly
The Timeline
Markus was a former quality 4-star wide receiver committed to the Badgers. He played well and is now looked at as a second or third WR on a team. When the Badgers fired their head coach, Markus decided to enter his name in the transfer portal. This makes sense, with a new coach all of the promises that were made to you are out the window and you never know what is happening next. He decided to take advantage of the transfer portal by receiving offers which one ended up being your very own Minnesota Gophers. He ended up visiting the gophers and ultimately “commits” to the gophers a couple of weeks later. Then.. Wisconsin hires Cincy’s coach Luke Fickell and Markus Decommits from the Gophers and pulls his name out of the transfer portal and is back at Wisconsin.Alright, that was a lot. It reminds me of a senior in high school trying to find a prom dress. Not only did he flip flop his decision multiple times. He also deletes every tweet he has on twitter. From his commitment to the gophers, to his recruitment being back open and even his recommitment to Wisconsin. It’s something he just doesn’t want to hear the hate from people online, so he announces what he’s going to do. The media picks up on it and then he deletes it so he doesn’t have to deal with the response back to the tweet.
Add him to the list
The term “better dead than red” rings true for many gopher fans. The rivalry between the two is always a heated one and Markus just added fuel to the fire. His name will be one of the top headlines heading into the Axe rivalry. You can bet Gopher fans will be rooting a little harder again after teasing us with a commitment. Just ask former Gopher hockey goalie and current Wisconsin Badgers starting Jared Moe. Everytime the two teams play you can tell they are trying a little harder to take it to their old teammate. If you are going to transfer, don’t go to the teams rival in the first place. But to ultimately flip back? In the words of Chris Carter and Randy Moss “Come on Man!”.After its all said and done, he’s a kid that just can’t make his mind up. We wish him best of luck in his future. We also wish he gets zero catches and the Gophers keep the Axe for the third consecutive year next year. If were worried about our 3rd or 4th wide receiver on our team next year we have bigger problems to worry about. I wouldn’t doubt if he transfers again before the season starts anyway.
