It’s Time…We Lost To The FUCKING LIONS

NFL Vikings

Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings lost to our division rival Detroit who, coming into today, HAD a ripe record of 0-10-1. Now, it’s no surprise that it was a close game. Somehow we can’t figure out how to win a game without it coming down to the last play just to lose (or sometimes win) in some sort of dramatic fashion. I can’t say this enough: We lost to THE FUCKING LIONS!!!

Not Just The Lions, but The Entire Season

It’s officially the end of defending Zimmer, Kubiak, and the whole gang that’s led us to a dismal 5-7 record this season.

Regardless of how you feel about the players on this team, Spielman and the front office has built a team that’s capable of winning. And before we bring up injuries, I fucking get it. We had a lot of our playmakers on defense out today and with Cook out along with the injury to Theilen early didn’t help at all either.

We still have plenty of playmakers on both sides of the ball to win a game. ESPECIALLY against a team like the Lions.

Coaches that are capable of winning division, conference and league championships make adjustments to win games like the Vikings lost today.

As we have all noticed, it’s been a common occurrence throughout the season with the screen passes on 3rd and long. When your entire offensive game plan is run on first, run on second, see what happens on third, it’s no wonder when you punt on fourth.

It’s no secret that the fans are fed up with the play calling and coaching on this team, but you can also see it in the players body language on the field. Maybe it was just me but it didn’t even seem like they wanted to play today, especially in the first half.

Where Do We Go Now?

In my personal opinion, it’s time to move on from the current coaching staff.

Not to say in Zimmer’s time he hasn’t brought some electric moment’s to Vikings history, but how long can you go on with sneaking in as a wild card or a division winner in an off-year in the NFC North.

The reason why we all watch and the players play is to win championships. Can we really do that with Zimmer? Kubiak? Maybe. But at what point is it time or a change of view and have a new coach have a shot at this team? Probably now.

We’ve got great players on this team like Jefferson, Cook, and Cousins (even though everyone hates him for some reason) that won’t want to stick around with a team like the Vikings if we stay in the pattern we’re in.

I’d like to think that this is a playoff team, and fuck, maybe we are. But even with all the injuries today, that was a must-win game. Playoff teams find a way to win that game. Playoff teams blow the Lions out, not hand them their only win of the season. You know who never lost to the fucking Lions? The Wild.

Skol.
