If you somehow not familiar with Costco all I can say is a Toys R’ Us for Adults… (and kids). Walking in gives you that therapeutic getaway feeling even though you are about to put a nice little dent into your wallet. Food? Clothes? TOYS! Costco has everything you could need inside. But something is sitting there that is a low-key monster gem spot. Costco’s food court.
Now if you haven’t tried this in your life I don’t know what to tell you. You can just walk in the exit because you don’t need a membership to eat the food from the food court. Me and my friends used to drive here during our HS lunch because you could eat for scraps…. and even with inflation, their prices have stayed the same, thanks to their CEO who will kill you if you even think about touching his fucking hot dog prices.
Anyhoo, Costco’s food court is the best thing before/after your Costco shopping trip, or just for a quick affordable good lunch. They recently added a couple of things which caused a delay in this blog.
What Should You Get?
If you walk in feeling nervous with the many options on the wall, come back to this blog. I’ve officially tried everything on the menu. So why not rank every item? This will be tougher than one might expect. There are many good options at Costco.
Everything @ Costcos Food Court
- All Beef Hotdog (with Soda) $1.50
- Chicken Bake $3.99
- Roast Beef Sandwich $9.99
- Pizza By The Slice + Whole Pizzas (Cheese, Pepperoni) $1.99, $9.95
- Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie 2.49
- Ice Cream Sundae $2.49
- Ice Cream Cup $1.99
- Cold Brew Mocha Freeze, $2.99
- Mango Smoothie, $2.99
- Rotisserie Chicken Caesar Salad, $6.99
10. Cold Brew Mocha Freeze $2.99
Starting the list we have the Cold Brew Mocha Freeze. I just recently got it because I was craving coffee and it was a total miss. There’s a reason an average Costcoian doesn’t even know this is on the menu.
9. Ice Cream Cup $1.99 (Vanilla, Strawberry)
An option you can’t go wrong with, especially for the price. The cups are filled to the brim giving you a great bang for your buck. The only reason they fall this low is because there’s a better ice cream option available, but if in the mood for some classic good ole ice cream, this is a great and popular choice.
8. Mango Smoothie $2.99
Another amazing option especially for the price. My only complaint is they used to have a berry smoothie that was a much more frequent buy for me. The smoothie is still amazing even though Mango would be one of my last choices when it comes to smoothies.
7. Roast Beef Sandwich $9.99
$9.99 for a sandwich in the Costco food court? Blows my mind especially when looking at all the other prices. This is one of the newer items in the Costco food court and putting the price aside is a great fucking sandwich. A couple of dollars cheaper and you would easily find this higher up on the list. I wouldn’t be surprised if this item is removed from the Costco menu just based on their customer’s demand for it. Not many people go to the Costco food court to spend that much money. Mostly when you factor in you could get an entire Costco Pizza for that price.
Overall, it’s a great sandwich that will never get the shine it deserves because of its high price tag.
6. Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie $2.50
The double chocolate chunk cookie replaced the Churro to start the year, and it does not disappoint. It’s perfect to share (750 calories) and the only thing it’s missing is a big glass of milk next to it. Make sure to grab tons of napkins because the gooey chocolate is a guarantee to get on your hand.
5. Rotisserie Chicken Caesar Salad $6.99
Honestly, I have no idea where to put this item. 5 seems a tad too high but 6/7 seems a tad too low. The Rotisserie Chicken Caesar Salad is made of Costco’s Rotisserie Chicken (obviously) along with romaine lettuce, parmesan cheese, and creamy Caesar dressing. My big reason for not knowing where to put this is the price. It’s a good salad but I’ve also never got a salad from any other place when I go out to eat. It’s $7 which isn’t too expensive but I do think a $5.99 or $4.99 price would be better mostly when considering you can buy an entire rotisserie chicken inside Costco for $4.99.
4. Ice Cream Sundae $2.49
For only 50 cents extra turning your ice cream cup into a sundae is a no-brainer. Vanilla ice cream then topped off by some chocolate or strawberries of your choosing. I prefer Chocolate in general so I’m biased but from everything I’ve heard the Strawberry toppings make this a top-notch food court item.
If you’re ever leaving Costco with a craving for Ice Cream, stopping quickly for an Ice Cream Sundae is a must.
3. Hot Dog & Drink Combo $1.50
The top 3 are the best three and it’s not even close. The only thing close is what belongs in each spot so if you disagree just know it was just as tough for me too. Anyways, coming in at #3 we have the iconic Hot Dog + Drink combo. The biggest thing to point out is the price. $1.50 for a big hot dog + a refillable pop cup. It hasn’t changed since 1985 and according to Costco’s CFO, it won’t be changing anytime soon. When approached by Costco’s CEO about raising the price he replied basically with I’ll kill you if you raise the price. Safe to say he does not fuck around when it comes to the hot dog combo.
(Please bring back the Bratwurst Combo COSTCO CFO)
2. Pizza (Cheese Or Pepperoni)
Let me start this off with FUCK DAVE PORTNOY FOR THAT SHITTY ASS COSTCO PIZZA REVIEW!
Have I ever ate all the good-ass pizza Dave has eaten? Hell NO. I’m one of those idiots who thinks a Jack pizza tastes phenomenal. BUT A 1.9? DISGRACE, TAKE THAT MANS PIZZA CARD AWAY! Back to the blog though…
At #2 we have maybe the most iconic Costco food court item. Their Pizza. It’s only $1.99 for a HUGE piece of pizza (cheese or pepperoni) or you can just buy an entire 18-inch pizza for $9.95. Don’t let Dave’s review throw you off if you haven’t tried a slice yet. Other than him I’ve never heard someone say they think Costco’s pizza is gross. Everyone loves it and rightfully so.
1. Chicken Bake $3.99
Is this a shocker at #1? To me, it’s an absolute no-brainer because the Chicken Bake is so damn good. Just look at that thing. It’s Chicken Breast, Cheese, Bacon, and Caesar dressing wrapped in some sort of breading. It used to only be $2.99 but even at $3.99 it’s an absolute steal. So good. If you ever are debating what to get, or need a break from the typical hot dog or pizza order, just get the chicken bake. You won’t be disappointed. You got MarTy’s word on that one.
Some people call me MarTy and some people call me Ryan. Wildcard when it comes to my writing. #FadeMe if I ever tweet out “locks”.
