Well, it’s going to be pretty tough to match the excitement that we saw this past weekend at Augusta National. The Masters and playing for the green jacket is golf at its finest. Lucky for us, we get to watch more golf with the top 100 go at it again at the RBC Heritage in South Carolina this weekend.
Will we see Jordan Spieth repeat? Will Rahm go back to back? Or will we see talented golfers like Cam Young or Sahith Theegala break the ice to their first professional win?
The RBC Heritage is one of the top tournaments of the year and that’s why they have recently made it an elevated tournament. An elevated tournament comes with a higher purse (20 Million) and a stronger field of players, creating greater fan hype! This week, unlike last week, will not have LIV golfers because it is not a major tournament. Nonetheless the level of competition this week will be the best the PGA tour can offer.

A few bets that have caught my eye this week that I find have good value are as follows.
One golfer that has been playing well despite having incredibly slow play is Patrick Cantlay. Cantlay is coming off a T-14 at Augusta and would’ve cracked the top 10 if it wasn’t for his final round 75. Dating back to last year’s RBC Heritage, Cantlay went toe to toe with Spieth in the final round and ended up losing in a playoff but nonetheless had a lovely tournament. Cantlay’s game suits himself very well here as his Tee to Green statistics are some of the best on tour. This will be key for him to have the same success he had last year. Patrick Cantlay Top 20 (-160) Top 10 (-125)
Another golfer that stands out to me this week is Sungjae IM. Sungjae is coming off a T-16 finish at the Masters this past week and finished T-21 at last year’s RBC Heritage. Sungjae has been playing very well this year with 4 top-10 finishes and 9 top-25 finishes with a scoring average of 69.4. He tends to be undervalued week to week because he hasn’t found himself in contention too often but still a very solid golfer that has all the tools to win. Sungjae IM top 20 (+110)
Finally, the RBC Heritage defending champ, Jordan Spieth. It’s hard to ignore Spieth this week based on his past success here at Harbour Town Golf Links. In the last 5 tournaments, he’s been T4, MC, 3rd, 19th, and 4th. He’s been playing great golf and can’t expect him to do anything different this week, especially as the defending champ. Spieth’s wedge game and short game should give him the best chance to get back into contention again. Jordan Spieth top 20 (-125) Jordan Spieth Outright Winner (+1825)
In closing, ALWAYS remember to handicap responsibly.
