It’s been just north of two weeks since superstar forward Kirill Kaprizov was sidelined due to a lower-body injury that left us Wild fans wondering, are we done? Was the deadline a waste? Clearly, we don’t have a team that can win without him, right? If you’ve thought that, well… in my best Godfather voice.

WRONG! YOU FOOLS!
I absolutely DESPISE people that rub “I was right!” all over people’s faces and I can assure you that’ll never change. I’m not going to direct you to my personal Twitter and have you look at the first 2.5 thoughts I present because, as I said, that’s not what I’m about.
The Minnesota Wild have gone 4-1-2 since 97 was assaulted on the ice with the team picking up the pieces. Boldy specifically. Since March 11, Matt has registered 12 points (8G + 4A) while notching a remarkable +8rating, a hat trick and a game-winning goal at the buzzer.
But it hasn’t been ALL Boldy. Players that have been having a down year have stepped up as well (except Zuccy, who misses his linemate). Foligno, Reavo, Johansson, Hartman, and the list goes on. Does it suck that Kaprizov hasn’t been able to hit the ice? Absolutely, but with his injury the team has learned how to win. Now, should we have won last night’s game against the Flyers? Obviously but we move forward.
With the loss to Philly, we remain 1 point behind Dallas in the race for first but all that will change this weekend. On Saturday the Wild play host to the ever-so-crappy Blackhawks while the Stars venture their way to Vancouver. Will we swap spots and take first? Time will tell.
