The New(ish) Era of the Minnesota Wild Has Arrived

I don’t know about all you Wild fans, but holy hell the last month, well, several months, has been a rollercoaster of emotion. I feel like Ron Burgundy, trapped in a glass case of emotion! One minute we suck, the next we’re hot, then we suck, then we’re hot, you get the point. It’s madness! But obviously right now? It’s pretty nice. Especially now that the next-in-line superstar, Marat Khusnutdinov (say that five times fast) is now in Minny, already making a difference.

A New(ish) Era Has Arrived

ICYMI, the Wild hosted the Anaheim Ducks last night where the rookie Russian made his NHL debut, and what a beauty it was.

Khusnutdino… screw it, we’ll just call him Nut, immediately made an impact for the team last night. As soon as he took his first shift, it was like playing NHL ’24, where you stack your created character at 99 everything. It was beautiful.

Okay, I may be exaggerating a bit, but do you see what I’m getting at? The Wild are actually fun to watch right now! Do I prefer a tight playoff race versus an easy arrival to the cup? Hell no, any Minnesota sports fan would be crazy to think that with all we’ve been through. However, right now, it’s pretty damn exciting.

Now, with his performance last night, and Ek out, will he stay on the 3rd line, or get an instant promotion? I’m no hockey stat guy by any stretch of the imagination, however, maybe give him another game or two to get comfortable, and then the conversation should be had. Can you imagine him between Boldy and Kaprizov? Nut would go off! Hopefully… again, I’m just overly excited after that game.

What’s to Come?

The next three games for the Minnesota Wild are going to be monumental. Like, I don’t know how else to put it. All three being away at St. Louis, Anaheim, and Los Angeles, oofta it’s going to be a doozy. But, with how we’ve been playing, the arrival of Nut, and Fleury playing out of his mind, are we about to steamroll ourselves into the playoffs?
