Who Would Have Thought The Wild Are Winning the Central?

Hockey Wild

How crazy is this?

I mean come on! Who would’ve thought our Minnesota Wild would not only be in 1st place in the Central with 7 games to go but playing as well as they have without superstar Kirill Kaprizov? If I’m being honest I certainly didn’t expect this but here we are. In 1st place. All players stepped up and are crushing the competition. This team is special.

With beating Colorado in Denver last night, even with the refs blowing calls left and right, this team is rolling and they’re rolling at the PERFECT time. Mind you they went with the ever not-so-impressive 11/7 lineup last night with Goligoski playing both defense and offense. Not bad, not bad at all.

ICYMI Minnesota beat writers Michael Russo and Joe Smith put together a projected lineup card come playoff time yesterday and if you thought this team was scary now, check this out. As Colorado coach Jared Bednar stated last night, Minnesota is a team that every NHL team should be avoiding. Much like a crazy ex.

It’s been fun seeing this team come together but they still have a tough stretch of games. A home/home series with the Vegas Golden Knights along with playing host to the Penguins and Blues. The Penguins are barely holding onto a wild card spot and the Blues, no matter how crappy, always seem to have our number. And in regard to Binnington, I hope he plays.

Wild fans, as the season is coming to a close the marathon is only beginning. With Kaprizov nearing his return and Nyquist now skating, get ready fans. It’s going to be a hell of a ride.
