Top 3 Plays to Ring in the New Year!

Hockey NHL Wild

ICYMI, we saw two versions of the Minnesota Wild following the holiday break. The team where they absolutely destroyed the Winnipeg Jets and the two days later version where they were ran over by the Dallas Stars

What was described as a “near-perfect” game for the Wild against the Jets, the team hoped to bring the momentum back to St. Paul. However, that hope was lost as the team fell 4-1 with the lone goal coming from, well you guessed it, Kirill Kaprizov. Not even Jake Middleton’s shirtless interview could bring the team luck.

Despite going 1-1, plays were made, so let’s take a look at the top three plays of the week:

Zuccarello to Freddy

Sammy Walker

Kirill Kaprizov

Three great plays from above average players. That’s what we like to see. I truly think Sammy Walker will continue to provide exciting plays for this team throughout his young career.

It was a so-so week for a team that should be playing head-to-head with teams like Dallas, but they certainly regrouped on New Years Eve.

Minnesota Wild vs. St. Louis Blues

The Minnesota Wild got their chance for redemption following last year’s disappointing New Years loss at Target Field to the St. Louis Blues. Oh, and let us not forget about last year’s early exit from the playoffs. Ugly.

But Saturday night was different with the Wild absolutely shitting on the Blues in a 5-2 win. We rung in 2023 on a high note. It’s time to close out puck in 2022.

Buckle up Minnesota fans, it’s going to be a fun New Year! A year that’ll bring more excitement, changes and hopefully a playoff appearance where we’ll actually win a series!

Friends, Happy New Year to you and yours and as always, LET’S. GO. WILD!
