Get Spanked Tampa Bay

Hockey NHL Wild

A cold, snowy night in the State of Hockey helped bring the Tampa Bay Lightning to their knees as the Minnesota Wild spanked them 5-1. As soon as the puck dropped the two teams were off to the races in one of the fastest paced games of the season. Honestly, to be at that game would’ve been INSANE! This, my friends, THIS, was the greatest Wild performance of the season.

Going up 1-0 thanks to Ekker midway through the 1st, the Wild continued to build off the momentum going into the second as the floodgates opened. Goal after goal after goal saw the ELECTRIC Minnesota team take a 4-1 lead into the final frame.

Now to the third. A third period that brought what we all expected. More high-paced hockey. Successfully killing the double minor power play issued towards the end of the second, the refs missed a blatant delay of game call against Shaw which could’ve easily turned the tide. Thankfully, this wasn’t the case. Instead, the Minnesota Wild continued to roll on all cylinders until the final horn.

Wild fans I don’t even know what else to say. If you didn’t watch that game I feel bad for you. Like, you missed one HELL OF A GAME. Living in Arizona I could FEEL the Xcel Energy Center and I’m not even drinking!.. And it wasn’t just one player! The entire team was rolling and Gustavsson between the pipes was an absolute roadblock (left the game with 2 minutes remaining…). Listen to the crowd, watch this play, salivate, this will be the top play of the week.

Greatest game I’ve seen all season for the Minnesota Wild. Absolutely incredible, and if we keep this up no one will be able to stop us.

What’s To Come

With all that being said, if were one of the people who missed tonight’s incredible game, the Wild are back in action Saturday in Buffalo. Puck drop’s at 5:00pm CST back on Bally, and as always, LET’S. GO. WILD!
