With just a month to go in the season, the Minnesota Twins have selfishly put us fans back in the passenger seat of desperation. Climbing back to just 1.5 games behind the Cleveland Guardians for the top spot in the AL Central; will the Twins disappoint?
Why? Seriously, why? This season has already been frustrating and, while I had lost all hope once they decided to lose to crap teams, they go on their second best win streak of the year? Now? Why?
Don’t get me wrong, I want the Twins to win the division. Is it because I love this team? Absolutely. Is it because I would lose money if they don’t win the division? I guess, but it’s not about me, jeeze. Is all hope lost or will the Twins disappoint us yet again?
With star Byron Buxton out due to hip soreness from dance lessons, Carlos “Big Money” Correa has decided to start playing up to the hype and has helped lead the Twinkies through an impressive stretch of games.
Plus, additional support does seem to be coming for the pitching staff as Uber driver Randy Dobnak, (John) Bailey Ober and James River High School standout Josh Winder near their return. The month of September is going to be stressful, but unfortunately that’s what we get for being Minnesota sports fans. Will the Twins win the division? Or will they make it interesting up to the last week where the wheels fall off the cart? If they win, please make it by more than 5 games because I really don’t want to jump into a pool.
This is a baseball team that hasn’t won a playoff game since 2004 so I’m used to having the Twins disappoint, but MAN do I hope they figure it out. If not for their own job security, then for the fans. Think of the children fans, Twins!
