Zurich Classic Best Bets, Can Team Cantlay/Schauffele Raise The Trophy Again?

Gambling

This week we shift gears from the Harbour Town Golf Links to the Zurich Classic at TPC Louisiana for another unique golf tournament. I say unique because this week’s format features teams of 2 golfers playing a combination of best ball and alternate shot. The Zurich Classic is a tournament of team strategies, with which players will take the tee shots on par 3’s and which par 4 tee shots suit each other’s games. The Zurich Classic has 80 teams of 2 (160 players) and begins on Thursday.

This week has a slightly weaker field but does have a couple powerhouse teams that will be looking to get into contention for a win. Will the team of Xander and Cantlay repeat? or will we see a new winner like the team of Homa/Morikawa or Kim/Kim?

We are coming off an awesome 4-1 week at the RBC Heritage hitting our Cantlay Top 20 and Top 10 bets as well as our Sungjae Im Top 20 bet and our Jordon Spieth Top 20. We failed to get Spieth’s 19/1 outright ticket home as he lost in a riveting playoff with Matt Fitzpatrick on the 3rd playoff hole. Fortunately, we were lucky to get a hedge off for 1/2 the profit. Let’s try and keep this mojo going heading into the Zurich Classic at TPC Louisiana.

This week, we are going for the value by taking three outright winners. The odds on the top 20s just aren’t rich enough for our blood so we are shooting for the stars, grabbing three teams to hoist the trophy.

The first outright winner we will be taking in the 2023 Zurich Classic will be the team of Tom Kim and Si Woo Kim at 16/1 odds (+1600). Both of these players have all the talent in the world and feel they can compete with any team as witnessed in last year’s Presidents Cup. Both are having pretty nice seasons and with a less-than-competitive field, I think there’s plenty of value in this wager. Kim/Kim Outright 16/1

Another outright winner we will be taking is the team of Morrikawa/Homa at 6/1 odds (+600). Vegas has this team as the 2nd favorite to win the tournament behind the team of Cantlay/Schauffele. However, I believe they should be closer in value so I will be taking them at 6/1 odds. Both players have teamed up in the Presidents Cup previously and their games complement each other with Morikawa’s irons and Homa’s short game, giving them a great 1-2 punch at TPC Louisiana. Homa/Morikawa Outright 6/1

Finally, our last outright winner we will be taking is the brother team of Matt & Alex Fitzpatrick at 34/1 odds (+3400). Matt is coming off his 2nd PGA tour win last week at the RBC Heritage and has been playing really solid all season. His Brother Alex currently plays on the KornFerry Tour, but there’s something about the Europeans that caught my eye this week at the Zurich Classic, and at 34/1, I will gladly take the pair of brothers to hoist the trophy. Matt & Alex Fitzpatrick Outright 34/1.

Good luck & please wager responsibly.
